Help Ukraine Group is excited to start our 2024 observership program in US/Canada for 18 Ukrainian oncology professionals. First 4 observers arrived to US and started their 1-month long training this week. We are grateful to Northwestern Medicine and Dr. Strauss for hosting Drs. Sofiia Zaluska and Ihor Khoma, radiation oncologists from Lviv Regional Cancer Center; grateful to UPenn Medicine and Dr. Stephen Avery and Kevin Teo for hosting Kateryna Havryliuk, a medical physicist from Feofaniya Hospital, and very thankful to University of Washington and Drs. Benjamin Li and Eric Ford for training Dr. Oleksandra Zemlianska, a radiation oncologist at Dnipro Cancer Center.
We wish the observers a fruitful time in the US, absorbing knowledge like sponges and bringing it back home to improve cancer care for their cancer patients in Ukraine.
This project would not be possible without the generous funding from UICC grant and financial support from Nova Ukraine when the grant was delayed. Many thanks to Rostyslav Semikov and Arman Kacharian for all the assistance and support to make sure the training starts on time.
